Logistics Manager – Job Description
Location:
Manchester, UK
Reports to: Company Director
Employment Type: Full-time (37.5hours/week
– Monday to Friday)
Salary: £43,000 per annum
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and
detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and streamline the logistics
operations of our retail business. You will be responsible for managing
inventory, coordinating with suppliers, handling deliveries, and ensuring that
stock moves efficiently from suppliers to our stores or customers. This role is
hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, small business
environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage
inventory across retail stores and warehouse locations to ensure products are
always available and stocked appropriately.
·
Coordinate
inbound shipments from suppliers and ensure timely restocking of products.
·
Oversee
order fulfillment for both in-store and online retail channels.
·
Develop
and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, courier partners, and
third-party logistics providers.
·
Ensure
accurate and timely delivery to stores and customers, including managing
returns or damaged goods.
·
Maintain
proper documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking.
·
Optimize
storage, warehousing, and distribution processes to reduce costs and improve
efficiency.
·
Monitor
stock levels and reorder products to avoid shortages or overstock.
·
Ensure
logistics compliance with all local regulations, safety standards, and company
policies.
·
Coordinate
with the sales and customer service teams to fulfill urgent or high-priority
orders.
·
Track
logistics KPIs, including delivery times, order accuracy, and transportation
costs.
Requirements:
·
2–3 years
of experience in retail logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management
(small business experience is a strong advantage).
·
Familiarity
with retail stock management systems or POS-integrated inventory tools.
·
Strong
analytical and organizational skills.
·
Excellent
communication and negotiation abilities.
·
Hands-on,
problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle logistics issues
efficiently.
·
Proficient
in Microsoft Excel and logistics/inventory software
Preferred Skills:
·
Strong
leadership and organizational skills.
·
Experience
in logistics management and knowledge of e-commerce logistics and last-mile
delivery.
·
Experience
with multi-location retail inventory.
·
Understanding
of import/export documentation (if applicable).
Additional Information:
·
Three
months probationary period is applied.
·
